Monthly Dividend Income Calculator
Many modern ETFs now pay a dividend every month. Use this tool to estimate the monthly income an investment could throw off, or to work out how much you would need to invest to hit an income goal.
Enter an amount and a yield to see the monthly payment it could produce.
How this estimate works
This tool uses plain math to turn a yield into a monthly figure. In income mode, it takes the amount you plan to invest, multiplies it by the annual yield you enter, then splits that yearly total into twelve equal parts. That gives you a rough monthly payment. In goal mode, you flip it around. You tell the tool the monthly income you want, and it shows the size of the investment you would need at the yield you picked.
Real funds rarely pay the exact same amount month after month. A monthly dividend ETF adjusts its payout based on how its holdings perform, the mix of assets it owns, and the calls its managers make. Some of these funds lean on options income plans that rise and fall with the market. Fees, shown as the expense ratio, quietly trim what reaches your account. And part of a payout can even be a return of your own money rather than fresh income, which can slowly shrink the fund. For all these reasons, treat the number here as a rough starting point, never a promise.
One more idea worth holding onto. Dividend yield is the slice of a fund that pays you in cash. Total return also folds in price changes, and those gains or losses do not land in your account as spendable money. For income planning, the yield is what fills your monthly check. This calculator offers general planning information only. It is not financial advice, and it leaves out taxes, which can take a real bite out of dividend income.
